Am I eligible for a B-2 tourist visitor visa to the US?

A country is like a home. Just as the owners of the home have a right to invite guests and have trespassers arrested so do governments have a right to permit or deny entry to noncitizens. Owing to your single status and lack of secure employment, you are likely to be denied a tourist visa, but you can go ahead and apply. You're risking only $140, a tiny sum compared to your savings. Right now there are an estimated 5 million people living illegally in the US after overstaying tourist visas. Most of these people are working illegally, either using fake or stolen SSNs or getting paid in cash without payroll taxes deducted. It is because of them that US consular officials presume immigration intent. If our country finds an effective means to locate and deport people who overstay visas, then perhaps people like you will have an easier time coming to the US for a visit.
