Circular saw blade stopping and kickback issues?

What I would suggest is to read the instructions again on installing the blade. A circular saw will cut through a 2/4 with no problems. Without being able to see what you are doing the main reason for kickback is binding. That can be caused by not supporting the piece being cut and as you cut through the pieces pinch togher binding the blade. Kerf is the cut that the blade makes. The teeth are wider at the top than the blade is thick to create a wide enough slot for the blade to go through.
