Is the War in Afghanistan a pack of lies and a waste of money and lives?

Heck yeah!! We need to spare our money and our military's lives and leave. They say we're doing it to "gain an ally" but what can afghan and iraq give us that we can't get elsewhere?? I think our government just has an issue with their image, because since we haven't found Osama, they think if they just leave without finding him other nations will see us as weak. Wth ever..
