Pulling my computer apart?

Where you plug the power chord into my laptop, the little thing it inserts into (I don't know the terminology) has fallen back into the laptop, I can see it, but am unable to bring it forward with tweasers. If I were to unscrew the laptop just to push it forward and somehow lodge it there would I cause any damage? I know this voids warranty, But I am pretty sure it is out of warranty anyway.
