Should I cohabitate with my boyfriend or have a long-distance relationship?

I can't find a job in my town right now and there is a big city 4 hours away that has tons of jobs in my specific field where I can make 45 dollars per hour. My boyfriend has to stay in our small town because he has a family business which is his livelihood. Should I move 4 hours away for a job or do odd jobs in our smaller town and ask my boyfriend if I can move in with him (he asked me to a month ago but I said no). I can do odd jobs here until a job in my field opens up, which will likely happen within the next year but what do you people think about cohabitation and everything thanks.
