What is wrong with my head?

A day or two ago my head started getting really weird, sudden, temporary, short pains. It hurts very badly and I have no idea what is going on. And even though it hurts very badly it goes away about as quickly as it comes. It feels like it comes from my temples and the center of my head and disappears. It's a sharp pain and it feels like a pulse. Do you have any idea as to what is wrong with me?
