Where do i find my dad's will?

my dad died intestate but i am pretty convinced that he left a will, my sister said she had asked him if he left one shortly before he died and he had told her that he had, but we are unable to find it. i wondered if there is a central body where wills are lodged that i can get in touch with to found out if he did actually leave one
